Curr Eye Res. 2023 May;48(5):456-464. In the last few decades, several blood derived products such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) and autologous serum (AS) have been used for the treatment of ocular surface disorders. Recently, insulin has been proposed to be used as an alternative for the treatment of ocular surface diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the biological potential of PRGF eye drops in comparison with AS and insulin on ocular surface cells.

J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2023 Mar;32(3):555-564. Rotator cuff tendinopathy (RCT) is a painful and dysfunctional shoulder condition traditionally considered as a degenerative pathology. However, evidence is pointing to immunocompetent cells and activated stromal fibroblasts as the drivers of a nonresolved inflammatory condition in RCT. As potent anti-inflammatory agents, corticosteroid injections have been among the first-line and the most common therapeutic strategies. Recently, another adjuvant therapy to treat musculoskeletal inflammation-driven painful conditions, namely, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), has emerged as safe and effective.

Bioengineering (Basel). 2023 Feb 27;10(3):303. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is used to enhance pregnancy in infertile women. In this technique, the eggs are removed from the ovary and fertilized and injected with sperm to make embryos. Unfortunately, embryo implantation failures still occur in many of these women. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies use a patient's own platelets to promote tissue healing and growth, including endometrium. The growth factors provided by the platelets play a criterial role on the regenerative ability of PRP. In the last years, PRP treatments have been gaining a lot of popularity to treat women with repeated ART failures.

J Clin Med. 2023 Feb 25;12(5):1841. To analyze the changes in corneal innervation by means of in vivo corneal confocal microscopy (IVCM) in patients diagnosed with Evaporative (EDE) and Aqueous Deficient Dry Eye (ADDE) and treated with a standard treatment for Dry Eye Disease (DED) in combination with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF).

Bioengineering (Basel). 2022 Oct 21;9(10):597. The objective of this systematic review is to assess the effect of the adjuvant use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and its type on new bone formation by anorganic bovine bone during maxillary sinus floor augmentation procedure

Cureus. 2022 Jul 6;14(7):e26623. Nowadays, infertility problems affect a high percentage of couples. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF-Endoret, hereafter PRGF) as a promising coadjuvant therapy in assisted reproductive techniques and its possible role in implantation and pregnancy rates. This retrospective study included 36 PRGF cycles in 27 women with one of the following reproductive disorders: recurrent implantation failure (n = 16), repeated abortion (n = 8), and thin endometrium (n = 3).
