Endometrial Infusion with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF) in IVF Cycles: Randomized Clinical Trial in Very Thin Endometrium and Observational Uncontrolled Follow-Up After the Randomized Clinical Trial
J Clin Med. 2025 Mar 13;14(6):1952. To assess if the instillation of plasma rich growth factors (PRGFs) improves endometrial thickness (EMT) in frozen embryo cycles performed under hormone treatment where the endometrium was very thin (≤5 mm).

Impact of increasingly complex cell culture conditions on the proteome of human periodontal ligament stem cells
Regen Med. 2025 Jan;20(1):21-34. Human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) exhibit an enormous potential to regenerate periodontal tissue. However, their translatability to the clinical setting is constrained by technical difficulties in standardizing culture conditions. The aim was to assess complex culture conditions using a proteomic-based protocol to standardize multi-layer hPDLSC cultivation methodology.

Potential Use of Plasma Rich in Growth Factors in Age-Related Macular Degeneration: Evidence from a Mouse Model
Medicina (Kaunas). 2024 Dec 10;60(12):2036. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of low vision and legal blindness in adults in developed countries. Wet AMD can be successfully treated using vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitors; however, dry AMD currently has no effective treatment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficacy of intraocular injection of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) in an AMD mouse model induced by intraperitoneal administration of sodium iodate.

Impact of inflammatory skin conditions on the biological profile of plasma rich in growth factor
Tissue Cell. 2024 Dec;91:102560. Plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) can be used over patients suffering from dermatoses due to its anti-inflammatory effect. However, this population group might present soluble autoimmune components and there is limited information about the effect of chronic skin inflammation on PRGF bioactive properties. With the aim of characterizing PRGF composition, PRGF from healthy (H) donors and patients with atopic dermatitis (AD), psoriasis (PS), or lichen sclerosus (LS) was obtained. In order to reduce the inflammatory component, leukocyte exclusion and heat-inactivation (Immunosafe) were tested. Haematological-serological parameters, platelet functionality, clot microstructure, protein content and bioactivity were determined.

Bioactive Effect of Plasma-Rich in Growth Factors (PRGFs) on Cell-Based In Vitro Models of Skin Inflammation in Relation to Inflammatory Skin Disorders
Cureus. 2024 Nov 22;16(11):e74252. Plasma rich in growth factors (PRGFs) has proven potentially beneficial as a bioregenerator in patients with chronic skin disorders due to its anti-inflammatory effect. However, its therapeutic potential may be limited by soluble autoimmune components associated with inflammatory dermatoses in blood plasma. To evaluate the impact of skin health status on cell bioactivity, PRGF was prepared from healthy (H) donors as well as from individuals with atopic dermatitis (AD), psoriasis (PS), or lichen sclerosus (LS). Leukocyte exclusion and heat inactivation (Immunosafe treatment) were evaluated as potential methods to reduce the inflammatory components of the samples under study. The biological effect of PRGF-derived formulations was investigated using cell-based in vitro skin inflammation models, including human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) and human epidermal keratinocytes (HEKs) exposed to a pro-inflammatory environment.

Effectiveness of platelet derivatives in neuropathic pain management: A systematic review
Biomed Pharmacother. 2024 Nov;180:117507. Neuropathic pain (NP) has a considerable impact on the global economic burden and seriously impairs patients' quality of life. Currently there is no evidence-based "effective" treatment and new treatments are needed. Recently, platelet rich plasma (PRP) has emerged as an alternative treatment. Therefore, a systematic review has been conducted to present an evidence-based assessment of the use of PRP in the treatment of NP.

The Biological Effect of Enriching the Plasma Content in Platelet-Rich Plasma: An In Vitro Study
Biomolecules. 2024 Oct 18;14(10):1328. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) formulations have become valuable therapeutic tools in regenerative medicine. In addition, these blood derivates have been successfully included in cell therapy as fetal bovine serum substitutes, due to the real need to avoid the risk of host immunologic reactions and the animal disease transmission associated with reagents from animal origin. However, the protocols for obtaining them should be optimized to improve their biological potential.

Safety of intraoperative autologous plasma incubation of corneal grafts for reducing endothelial cell loss: a pilot study
Front Med (Lausanne). 2024 Aug 12;11:1368117. Corneal endothelial cell loss contributes to transplant failure. Autologous plasma products (APP) activate salvaging pathways that can prevent oxidative stress perioperatively. This study aimed to evaluate the safety of intraoperative incubation of full-thickness corneal grafts in platelet-rich plasma (aPRP) and plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF-Endoret) in mitigating postoperative corneal endothelial cell loss (ECL).

Plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) technology as adjuvant to Ab Externo trabeculectomy
Int Ophthalmol. 2024 Jul 22;44(1):332. Plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) technology creates blood-derived products with growth factors that promote wound healing and regeneration. The goal of this study was to assess the potential role of PRGF products as wound modulators in trabeculectomy. Our premise is that due to PRGF's regenerative and antifibrotic properties, its use in trabeculectomy may produce a more physiological bleb, without altering IOP reduction.

Efficacy of Plasma Rich in Growth Factors for Healing Chronic Skin Ulcers: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials With Meta-Analysis
Wounds. 2024 Jun;36(6):189-200. Chronic skin ulceration is a serious pathological condition for which the adjuvant use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been indicated. However, evidence for the use of PRP in patients with chronic skin ulcers remains insufficient due to a large heterogeneity in experimental designs, PRP composition, and preparation protocols.
