Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome has been identified as an important general health problem, related to hypertension, some cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and
can lead to a decrease in life expectancy in people suffering from this condition. The dentist is one of the professionals who has the opportunity to detect it early. Specific oral signs and
symptoms, or relevant data from the clinical history, can serve as a warning to reach an early diagnosis. Through early diagnosis and treatment, it is possible to prevent some of its consequences.
