J Ovarian Res. 2025 Apr 24;18(1):84. The aim of this in vitro short report was to determine whether activation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) results in differential effects on growth factor release and cell proliferation in reproductive medicine. This study involved PRP from five donors, activated with either CaCl2 (exogenous activation) or type I collagen (mimicking endogenous activation). The release of growth factors (EGF and PDGF-AB) and the proliferative response of human ovarian fibroblasts were analysed. PRP activated with CaCl2 formed stable clots and released statistically significant higher levels of EGF (871 ± 426 pg/mL) and PDGF-AB (26535 ± 6477 pg/mL) compared to collagen-activated PRP (EGF: 141 ± 66 pg/mL, PDGF-AB: 13060 ± 2301 pg/mL). Additionally, CaCl2-activated PRP induced greater proliferation in ovarian fibroblasts (34.90 ± 17.82 ng/mL DNA) than collagen-activated PRP (30.75 ± 18.21 ng/mL DNA).

Pain Ther. 2025 Apr;14(2):675-690. Chronic back pain is a long-lasting disorder that is significantly associated with a reduction in the quality of life. Previously, the efficacy of intradiscal and epidural injections of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) was demonstrated at 6 months. The objective of this study was to retrospectively examine the medical records of these patients in order to determine whether the observed improvement at the 6-month follow-up was sustained over time.

Dent J (Basel). 2025 Mar 26;13(4):144. The upper central incisors play a central role in esthetics, symmetry, and function. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of narrow-diameter implants (NDIs) for replacing single missing upper central incisors, addressing the gap in research regarding specific tooth types and their esthetic outcomes.

J Clin Med. 2025 Mar 13;14(6):1952. To assess if the instillation of plasma rich growth factors (PRGFs) improves endometrial thickness (EMT) in frozen embryo cycles performed under hormone treatment where the endometrium was very thin (≤5 mm).

Case Rep Dent. 2025 Feb 10;2025:5548590. Patients with oral lichen planus can sometimes develop malignancy of the process and develop oral squamous cell carcinoma or another type of cancer. Close monitoring of the lesions and early diagnosis is important to increase patient survival. Once cancer treatment has been performed, the therapeutic options for restoring masticatory and phonatory function, in addition to resolving the aesthetic sequelae, are important. In the present clinical case, we show a patient who was treated and followed over a long period of time for both her carcinoma and her subsequent rehabilitation with implants.

J Oral Microbiol. 2025 Feb 5;17(1):2459922. For the long-term success of dental implants, implant abutment surface should promote the attachment of oral epithelial cells and reduce bacterial adhesion. Titanium nitride (TiN) coatings show antimicrobial properties. Nevertheless, there is a lack of clinical trials that assess the biofilm formation on TiN abutments in the context of clinical practice. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different abutment surfaces (machined, TiN and TiN oxidized) on bacterial biofilm composition and structure.

Regen Med. 2025 Jan;20(1):21-34. Human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) exhibit an enormous potential to regenerate periodontal tissue. However, their translatability to the clinical setting is constrained by technical difficulties in standardizing culture conditions. The aim was to assess complex culture conditions using a proteomic-based protocol to standardize multi-layer hPDLSC cultivation methodology.

Dent J (Basel). 2024 Dec 27;13(1):12. Vertical atrophy of the maxilla has traditionally been treated with sinus lift procedures and implant placement, performed in one or two surgical stages. Subsequently, the transcrestal sinus lift technique was introduced, offering distinct advantages in terms of indications and reduced morbidity. Most recently, short implants have emerged as a valid alternative to these procedures, even in cases of severe horizontal resorption, allowing for direct placement in many cases. This study was designed to assess the clinical outcomes of short implant placement in alveolar ridges with severe bone atrophy, compared with conventional-length implants placed in areas undergoing conventional sinus elevation.

Front Dent Med. 2024 Dec 11;5:1465137. The jaw with severe bone atrophy is a difficult challenge when rehabilitating with dental implants. To be able to place dental implants in the most severe cases and to achieve an increase in bone volume by means of the tension transmitted by the load is a novelty. This work provides data on the alveolar bone changes in a severely atrophic mandible that has been treated with implant supported prosthesis under progressive loading protocol.
