PRP intra-articular infiltration is a promising treatment for knee osteoarthritis, but it still has some limitations in high-degree osteoarthritis. Diagnosis of osteoarthritis is based on clinical and radiographic findings, and patients with grade III or IV knee tibiofemoral osteoarthritis based on the Ahlbäck scale are considered candidates for this technique. The technique consists of performing intraosseous infiltration of PRP into the subchondral bone, which acts on this tissue and consequently on cartilage-bone communication. Although the intraosseous injection hinders the conventional knee intra-articular infiltration, it allows an extension of the range of action of the PRP, which acts directly on the subchondral bone, which is involved in the progression of osteoarthritis. Thus this technique involves a new administration of PRP that can delay knee arthroplasty; moreover, it can be applied for not only severe osteoarthritis but also other pathologies in which the subchondral bone is critical in the etiology, such as necrosis and osteochondral lesions.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]

Figures

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1775632640233{margin-top: 75px !important;margin-right: 5% !important;margin-left: 30px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;background-color: #F6F6F6 !important;border-radius: 25px !important;}”]

[vc_column_text css=””]Accedi alla brochure di BTI:[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”45493″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” css=”.vc_custom_1775634522931{margin-top: -10px !important;}” link=”https://www.btitrainingcenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/2.-USA_OSTEOARTRITIS_TECNICA.pdf”]
    Accedi al pdf

[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” content_text_aligment=”center”][vc_column]

<a itemprop="image" class="qodef-ig-lightbox" href="https://www.btitrainingcenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/gr1.jpg" data-rel="prettyPhoto[image_gallery_pretty_photo-853]" title="<strong>Fig 1.</strong> (A) The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) intraosseous infiltration of a knee with severe femorotibial osteoarthritis is performed into the medial tibial plateau (1) and medial femoral condyle (2).
